Wye Town
Wye Town, or Ventling as its owner likes to think of it, is a Southern Region layout where Hayling Island meets Ventnor. It is one module of a yet to be completed modular layout. However it can be run as a layout in its own right with a fiddle yard to the right of the station throat. The layout is nearly complete - it just needs the addition of a suitable station building or half of one to finish the platform and the addition of another canopy plus a few more people and accessories. Although only four feet long it served its purpose for the owner who lives in a small first floor flat.
Wye Town is a small terminus in the south set in late BR steam days as things are winding down during the 1950s. The station has a main platform with a bay and a parcels siding that sees a mix of short coached trains with an interloping autocoach, railcar or DMU. A convoluted kick back siding for coal and water makes for some interesting operations. A mix of terrier and pannier locomotives means that Wye Town is a 0-6-0 haven.
