Wexcombe.
N gauge 1960’s diesel 2mtrs x 45cm.
A “what if” branch line set in the heart of Wilshire milk country. It has been kept open for some sparse passenger traffic and a dairy. Trains run around at Wexcombe. Set in the late 1960s where the motive power is turning to green diesels. The lush green countryside is an ideal spot for a railway. Taking inspiration from the Witney Fairford branches and taking it west. Class 22s have taken over from Pannier tanks with B set coaches still in operation. A milk train goes back and forth intermixed with an oil train and occasional mixed goods.
The track is Peco Code 80 with modified Electrofrog points as you would in OO. Stock is weighted for better running and fitted with Dapol Easy Shunt short couplings. Neodymium magnets (2mm x 4mm) at set points around the layout allow for spot uncoupling. It’s designed to be as hands free as much as possible.
My YouTube video experimenting with couplings and magnets.
