Vobster Quarry

Pupils of Mountbatten School have hand built this layout from scratch using materials found in the school and items donated to the club so it cost nothing to make.  It is loosely based on the Vobster limestone quarry in Somerset.  Trucks would be pushed to a lime kiln or crusher at the end of the sidings, or hauled by the company’s locomotive to a point just short of Mells Road Station for collection by the Great Western Railway.
