Milton Monachorum
Milton Monachorum is set somewhere in South Devon, possibly in the South Hams where a rich seam of treacle was found many years ago, whilst up the line are china clay dries which provide the staple traffic. So in the late 1950s the railway is rather run-down and has lost its through line to the rear of the island platform to the construction of a new by-pass. It now provides access to the treacle mine which is now a part of the British Treacle Corporation. Some of the output of the mine is transported in bulk to East Anglia for refining whilst the remainder is put into barrels for use as animal feed.
