Welcome to our new web site. Initially we will be introducing the Romsey & District RMS with some brief details of the club, its interests, location and the layouts that we own. For those whose geography does not cover Southern England, Romsey is a town with a population of about 13,000 and lies on the edge of the New Forest some 10 miles north-north-west of Southampton. Its claim to fame being a 9th century Abbey and Broadlands House, the home of the late Earl Mountbatten of Burma.
Please see our about page for more details about the club.
Interests:
The interests of our members are wide and varied. These range from N gauge to live steam garden railways, British Rail, all the Big Four, narrow gauge plus continental. Many members have an interest in railway preservation in some form.
Exhibitions:
We hold an annual exhibition, usually over the first full weekend of March, in the Crosfield Hall close to the Romsey town centre. It may not be the largest in the South but we aim for quality, with model railways operated as a railway, and limited trade support. Every layout has been seen running under exhibition conditions before an invitation is extended, unless we know the builder and what he/they can produce. Details of our 2020 Exhibition can be found here.
We have decided not to hold an exhibition in 2021 due to the likelyhood of Covid-19 restrictions still being in place. However, we hope there will be an open day in the July.
We have also decided to plan for an exhibition in 2022.

Membership:
We always welcome prospective new members, come and join us at the Scout Hall, Braishfield Rd, Romsey on a Wednesday evening at 7:30 for a cuppa and a chat.
We are probably one of the least expensive clubs in the south with an annual membership of £15 and no joining fee.
Sadly, we will not be holding any more Wednesday evening meetings until it is safe to do so.
